PFCExpress
Features and Functions ( FREE ADD-IN! )When you insert a video or sound file, or even another document in your presentation they are not truly embedded in the presentation. Instead PowerPoint creates a link to them with a "hard path" to the location where the file is stored on your hard drive. As an example, lets say you place a video from your "C:\mydocuments\username\myvideos" folder into the presentation. When you move the presentation and the video to another machine PowerPoint can not find the video file because the username in the path is not the same. In fact, whoever you email it to may not even place it on the C:\ drive at all. PFCExpress examines the entire presentation and looks for all embedded objects (files) and removes the existing link and creates a "pathless link" for each of them. This is done by creating a copy of all embedded objects (files), placing the copies in the same folder as the presentation, and then reconnects them with a pathless link. All of the files and the presentation are then compressed into a standard Zip file which may be emailed or saved to your hard drive for future use. When your recipient receives the zip file they simply save the attachment and unzip it and it is ready for use. Where they save it to on the hard drive no longer matters, the presentation and embedded objects (files) will work exactly as they should. Another advantage of pathless links is you don't need to be concerned with too long of a path name which has been an issue with PowerPoint for a very long time. ● You decide if you want to send the presentation as a presentation file (*.ppt) or as a show (*.pps). PFCExpress makes the needed changes automatically. ● You may send the Zip file as an email, or save it to your desktop. As a side benefit, if you save the zip file to your machine, you may extract the contents for burning to CD or other removable media and not be concerned with the links. ● PFCExpress uses your default email application. No need to learn a new application. ● You may import your address book directly into PFCExpress for easy and quick selection of recipients. You can of course enter the address manually. ● PFCExpress supports the TO:, CC:, and BCC: fields of your email application. ● PFCExpress also uses the Office dictionary for Spell Checking so any custom words you have added to the dictionary are accepted. ● The "Return Receipt Requested" function is available if it is supported in your email application. ● Each email is pre-populated with instructions on how to save, unzip, and view the presentation for your recipient. You may of course remove it. ● The Zip file size is reported and a warning is given if it is larger than your ISP or IT department allows. ● And finally, did we mention that PFCExpress is 100% FREE to every PowerPoint user?
